Beyond Wrestling: Tournament For Tomorrow 3:16 - Block B Review

Eight more teams battle it out for the two remaining spots in the Tournament For Tomorrow 3:16 Finals!

Beyond Wrestling: Tournament For Tomorrow 3:16 - Block B
Providence, Rhode Island 11/30/14

1.) Tournament For Tomorrow 3:16 - Block B - First Round - The Batiri (Obariyon & Kodama) vs. Milk Chocolate (Brandon Watts & Randy Summers): **1/2

I thought this was a pretty average match. It wasn’t good, but it wasn’t exactly bad either. Their were some decent moments of action here and there, but a good chunk of the match was focus on comedy from Milk Chocolate, including attempts to pull off “Twin Magic” where the fact that they were wearing a red bandana would confuse the referee (despite both members of the team not looking alike at all). This “Twin Magic” did lead to a victory for Milk Chocolate though, so I have to give them some credit. They advance to the next round.

2.) Tournament For Tomorrow 3:16 - Block B - First Round - The Garden State Gods (Eric Corvis & Myke Quest) vs. The M1nute Men (Devin Blaze & Tommy Trainwreck): ***1/4

This was a really entertaining match. The match featured (pretty much) nonstop action from start to finish, and both teams busted out some really unique tandem offense. I enjoyed watching this match a lot. Sure, it wasn’t the greatest match in the world, but it was a ton of fun. The Garden State Gods get the win to advance to the next round.

3.) Tournament For Tomorrow 3:16 - Block B - First Round - The Colony (Fire Ant & Worker Ant) vs. Flawless & Lawless (Blake Morris & Rex Lawless): **1/2

I was very excited to see that The Colony were in this tournament. Unfortunately, this wasn’t their best effort. The match wasn’t bad, as there was some solid action at a few different points. However, it was very weirdly structured. This was mostly and extended singles match between Blake Morris and Worker Ant, with Fire Ant really only getting in the match for about a minute or so near the end. Rex Lawless did a few things, but didn’t play that much of a factor either. Again, I thought this was ok, but it certainly could have been better.

4.) Tournament For Tomorrow 3:16 - Block B - First Round - The Kimber Bombs (Kimber Lee & Cherry Bomb) vs. The Crusade For Change (Darius Carter & TJ Marconi): ***1/4

They were on opposite sides of a mixed tag team match the night before at Alive & Kicking, but for the Tournament For Tomorrow 3:16, The Kimber Bombs are back to teaming up, as they took on The Crusade For Change in this first round match. This was a pretty good match. While The Garden State Gods vs. The M1nute Men featured a lot more action, this match featured a good combination of good wrestling and a nice little story, with the underdogs of The Kimber Bombs fighting off the bullies of Darius Carter & TJ Marconi. There was some solid back & forth action throughout this one, and in the end, Kimber Lee pinned Darius Carter with the Alligator Clutch, meaning that The Kimber Bombs advance to the next round!

The Crusade For Change attacked The Kimber Bombs after the match. Fortunately, The Garden State Gods, who were feuding with The Crusade For Change at the time, and who were actually facing The Kimber Bombs in the next round later on in the show, came out to make the save!

5.) Tournament For Tomorrow 3:16 - Block B - Second Round - Milk Chocolate (Brandon Watts & Randy Summers) vs. The Colony (Fire Ant & Worker Ant): ***

The winners of this match will be the third team to qualify for the Tournament For Tomorrow 3:16 Four-Way Elimination Finals at Tournament For Tomorrow 3. I thought this was a good match. For both teams, this match was definitely an improvement over their respective encounters in the first round. There was some good action throughout, and for the most part, I enjoyed it. It was nice to see a more serious Milk Chocolate. Plus, we at least got to see Fire Ant for more than a minute, so that was nice. Eventually, Milk Chocolate were able to score the victory, meaning that they’re the third team to advance to the Four-Way Elimination Finals!

6.) Tournament For Tomorrow 3:16 - Block B - Second Round - The Garden State Gods (Eric Corvis & Myke Quest) vs. The Kimber Bombs (Kimber Lee & Cherry Bomb): ***

The winner of this match will be the fourth and final team to qualify for the Tournament For Tomorrow 3:16 Four-Way Elimination Finals at Tournament For Tomorrow 3. This was another entertaining match. For both teams, it was actually kind of the inverse situation of the two teams involved in the other second round match. I thought the first round matches for both teams earlier in the night were just a little better than this match. Still, with that being said, this wasn’t a bad match by any means. Both teams worked hard, and their effort certain showed. The Kimber Bombs fought hard, but in the end, The Garden State Gods got the win, meaning that they’re the fourth and final team to advance to the Four-Way Elimination Finals!

Overall: 6.0/10

While the show featuring Block A had the standout match of the two blocks, this Block B show was a little more consistent, in terms of match quality. There were average to good matches, but I really wouldn't call anything bad. Once again two teams (The Garden State Gods & The Kimber Bombs) stood, and I would say the matches involving those teams are the only ones that are worth checking out.
