Evolve 24 Review

They Broke The Ring!!!!

Evolve 24
Brooklyn, New York 9/22/13

1.) Four-Way Freestyle - Green Ant vs. "Psycho" Mike Rollins (with Larry Dallas) vs. "Mr. Touchdown" Mark Angelosetti vs. Lince Dorado: **3/4

A decent opener here, but it was not as good as the two four ways from the previous show. Something was just missing. Lince Dorado got the win, though I think Green Ant should have won, and I think the crowd in Brooklyn would agree, as they would chant "Green Ant" several times for the rest of the night.

2.) Matt Jackson vs. Shane Strickland: ***

Matt has an open contract and the "King of Swerve" answers the challenge. A pretty solid match. Like a lot of matches this weekend, it got better down the stretch.

3.) Ivelisse vs. Su Yung (with Anthony Nese & Mr. A): *1/2

This is a Shine showcase match, because why not? A typical women's match. Nothing really special. Su Yung would pick up the win.

After the match, Anthony Nese talks about his open contract and calls out his opponent. Josh Alexander answers the call.

4.) Anthony Nese (with Su Yung & Mr. A) vs. Josh Alexander: ***

A fine match, but I feel like these two just didn't mesh as well as I hoped. Outside interference from Su Yung & Mr. A would lead to a Nese win.

5.) Trent Baretta vs. Maxwell Chicago: **

Another open contract match. It was a pretty fun comedy outing, as Maxwell Chicago AKA Seth Rogen's brother/twin prides himself on being an entertainer. Trent Baretta would get the win to the surprise of nobody.

Afterwords, Caleb Konley comes out and challenges Trent Baretta to a match, and he accepts.

6.) Trent Baretta vs. Caleb Konley: ***1/4

I gotta say, it looks pretty bad when the babyface who makes the challenges ends up losing said challenge. Anyway, the match was pretty good. Not much else to say.

7.) Young Bucks Tag Team Invitational - Four-Way Freestyle - Los Ben Dejos vs. The Bravado Brothers vs. The Gentlemen's Club (Chuck Taylor & Orange Cassidy) vs. Pieces of Hate (Jigsaw & The Shard): ***1/2

This match continued the trend of this weekend's shows of a slow match building up to eventually becoming great. I actually really enjoyed this. For me, I would have rated this slightly higher had the match not gone as long as it did. The Bravados would get a hard-fought win.

After the match, Matt Jackson comes out to congratulate the winners, but of course, Matt Jackson doesn't shake hands! The Bravados say they're coming for the Open The United Gate Titles.

8.) Style Battle Tournament Finals - Drew Gulak vs. Biff Busick: ****1/2

For some reason the entrances were cut off on the VOD but luckily the match had only just started. These two have had several great matches this year already. This was no exception. Awesome Match!! Cannot stress that enough. Gulak & Busick tour the house down with some intense, stiff, hard-hitting wrestling, but it would be Drew Gulak who would prevail. I also gotta say that Bryce Remsburg on commentary really added to this match. Lenny Leonard show never do commentary by himself (same goes with Kevin Kelly in ROH).

Afterwords, Drew Gulak makes a few comments. First, he puts over Biff Busick as a great competitor. Secondly, he wants rematch with Jon Davis. He ends by saying "I AM THE LAW!!"

9.) Open The Freedom Gate Title - Johnny Gargano vs. Rich Swann: ****

It was during this match (about midway through) that the ring breaks. It isn't fully broken yet, but you could tell it wasn't secure. Othen than that, Swann & Gargano put on a great match. I really enjoyed the finish and I thought Gargano plays his heel roll very well (By the way, I like how they changed the pitch of Gargano's Entrance Theme to reflect the heel turn. Very subtle but very cool). Pretty solid title match.

10.) Evolution's End No DQ Falls Count Anywhere - Ricochet vs. AR Fox: ****1/4

This, of course, was supposed to be the second ever Evolution's End, but with the ring broken it's pretty hard to do, so before the match, AR Fox takes the mic, and says "Fuck This Ring!". He asks that the match be made to a No DQ Falls Count Anywhere Match, which Ricochet agrees to. This ended up being really great. They were able to take a real negative with the ring breaking and turned it into a positive with an awesome brawl. I think the building they were in (The Brooklyn Lyceum) really played up the match stipulation very where, as they brawled everywhere, even to the top of the balcony! AR Fox would end this madness and pick up the decisive win over his rival.

After the match, Ricochet & AR Fox hug after the hard fought bout and officially end their feud. Ricochet first puts over AR Fox and then says that he's gunning for the Open The Freedom Gate Title. This brings out Su Yung who makes an offer to Ricochet to join the Premiere Athlete Brand. Ricochet rejects the offer, saying that would make Anthony Nese the 2nd best athlete in the group. This brings out Nese who attacks Ricochet and says that he made a big mistake by disrespecting the Premiere Athlete Brand.

Overall: 8.5/10

First of all, I have to mention the venue: The Brooklyn Lyceum. At first the building looked kind of trashy, but it grew on me as the show progressed, and showed it's worth in the Main Event. It has that Old School ECW feel which I think is kind of cool. As for the show itself, the undercard was pretty average, but everything from Baretta/Konley on ranges from good to great to fantastic. The three main events were all thrilling in their own unique way. Definitely one of the best Evolve Shows to date and worth checking in out on VOD (because lets be honest, the DVD with never come out).

Evolve 23 Review

The Premiere Athlete gets his shot at the Evolve Title!

Evolve 23
Ridgewood, New York 9/21/13

The show starts off with Lenny Leonard interviewing Matt Jackson, one half of the Open The United Gate Tag Team Champions. His brother Nick Jackson is not in attendance for this weekend's shows due to the birth of his first child a few days earlier (Congrats!). He welcomes everyone to first-ever Young Bucks Tag Team Invitational. He joins Lenny Leonard for the first match in this Invitational.

1.) Young Bucks Tag Team Invitational - Dos Ben Dejos vs. The Gentlemen's Club (Chuck Taylor & Orange Cassidy): ***

This was a very solid opener. I found to be a fun match, and I really enjoyed the Taylor/Cassidy pairing.

After the Gentlemen's Club picked up the win, Matt Jackson took to the mic and belittled the Gentlemen's Club for not using a Superkick. He gives the match **1/2. Caleb Konley then makes his way to the ring, ready to go, and since Matt Jackson is already in his gear, we get our next match.

2.) Matt Jackson vs. Caleb Konley: ***1/2

These two actually had a pretty good match. It started off slow, but then gradually picked up the pace. The latter part of this match was really good. Konley would end up scoring the win.

Afterwords, Larry Dallas comes out and cheers on Caleb Konley, thinking he's still part of The Scene, when Konley wants nothing to do with him.

3.) Young Bucks Tag Team Invitational - The Bravado Brothers vs. Pieces of Hate (Jigsaw & The Shard): ***1/2

Jigsaw demands that since he & The Shard are Campeonatos de Parejas for life, that this match be held under Lucha Rules. Much like Jackson/Konley match, it started off slow, but gradually picked up the pace, and again, the last several minutes were really good. The Bravados have proved that their time in Japan and Europe was well spent indeed, as they win this match.

Matt Jackson comes out afterwords, and declares Jigsaw & The Shard the "true winners" since they actually did superkicks.

4.) Earl Cooter vs. Brian XL: *1/4

I have no idea who these guys are and I could care less. They had a match that was waaaay longer than it needed to be. Brian XL wins, but Larry Dallas leads his newest acquisition, "Psycho" Mike Rollins, to ring and orders him to destroy Brian XL, which he does. This could have been accomplished this in 3 Minutes.

5.) Style Battle Four-Way Elimination Match #1 - "Mr. Touchdown" Mark Angelosetti vs. Drew Gulak vs. Shane Strickland vs. Lince Dorado: ***1/4

This is the first match of the Style Battle Tournament. A pretty entertaining four-way, but I never felt like this match got into that high gear to make it something more. Good, but not great. Strickland was out first, then Dorado, and finally, Gulak eliminated Touchdown to advance to the finals.

6.) Style Battle Four-Way Elimination Match #2 - Maxwell Chicago vs. Green Ant vs. Biff Busick vs. Josh Alexander: ***1/4

Green Ant is replacing the injured Andrew Everett. I felt like this has a different set of issues compared to the last match. This one wasn't that interesting at the start, until Maxwell Chicago and his ridiculous attire were eliminated (By the way he looks a lot like Seth Rogen. Anyone else notice this?). Then it picked up a little bit before Green Ant's elimination (Green Ant was REALLY popular here). In the final two, it picked up big time with Busick & Alexander duking it out in a slugfest. Busick would end up getting the win and advancing to the finals.

7.) The Inner City Machine Guns (Ricochet & Rich Swann) vs. Johnny Gargano & Trent Baretta: ****

So basically whoever wins this match gets to put into place their respective stipulation for the Rich Swann/Johnny Gargano match on Evolve 24. If Gargano's team wins, then Rich Swann's career will be on the line. If Swann's team wins, then the Open The Freedom Gate Title will be on the line. This was easily the match of the night. Swann, Ricochet & Gargano were great as usual, but Trent Baretta stepped up his game and had a very solid outing as well. The Inner City Machines Guns would get the win, meaning that Johnny Gargano will have to defend his Open The Freedom Gate Title against his former Ronin stablemate!

8.) Evolve Title - AR Fox (with Ivelisse) vs. Anthony Nese (with Mr. A & Su Yung): ***1/2

Nese is accompanied by Mr. A (who I believe is Roadkill of ECW fame) and Su Yung. AR Fox brings out Ivelisse from Shine to help keep Su Yung in check. The match itself was actually pretty good, but all the outside interference affected it big time. It seemed like at times the attention was more on Su Yung & Ivelisse than Fox & Nese, which is not good. All these shenanigans eventually spill into the ring, and eventually AR Fox wins the match and retains his title. The match was good. It could have been better, but ended up being a letdown of a main event, mainly due to the interference.

Overall: 7.75/10

This was a relatively solid show on the whole. Their really isn't a bad match (aside from the Brian XL match) and every match proved to be entertaining in some form or another. They did a good job building up the Style Battle Finals & the Open The Freedom Gate Title Match for Evolve 24. Though their were a few problems with the main event booking wise, the show was overall pretty solid.

Wrestling is Cool: The Chilling Sound of Your Doom/Cool Party Review

Wrestling is Cool makes it's debut and we see the reformation of a celebrated tag team!

This MP4 from Smart Mark Video includes four matches from the first show (not sure why they only included four) and all of the second show.

Wrestling is Cool: The Chilling Sound of Your Doom
Kingwood, West Virginia 4/14/13

1.) “Mr. Touchdown” Mark Angelosetti vs. Frightmare: **1/4

Eh...this was ok, but I felt like it could have been so much better. An ok match, but not much else.

2.) AC/DC (Arik Cannon & Darin Corbin) vs. Dale Patricks & Trip Cassidy: **1/2

This is my first time seeing Patricks & Cassidy, who are heavily involved with Wrestling is Heart. A solid tag team match, but again, that's pretty much it. I'm actually a fan of the Cannon/Corbin duo. I'd love to see Dragon Gate USA/Evolve bring them in since they haven't done anything with Cannon after Sami Callihan left for WWE.

3.) Juan Francisco de Coronado (with Herbert) vs. The Estonian ThunderFrog: **3/4

Probably the best match on this first show. de Coronado & ThunderFrog are probably two of the most interesting characters to emerge in the "Wrestling is..." Universe, and if CHIKARA were ever to come back, I'm sure they're be prominent figures.

4.) Heidi Lovelace & Saturyne vs. Los Ice Creams: **1/2

Much like the earlier tag team match, this was a fine affair, but nothing really spectacular. Typical Los Ice Creams match.

Wrestling is Cool: Cool Party
Deptford, New Jersey 7/21/13

1.) The Colony (Fire Ant & Green Ant) vs. Los Ice Creams: **1/2

So it was apparently really hot the day they did this show, and The Colony brought out some Ice Cream Treats for the fans! Los Ice Creams are wearing a black version of their attire which I actually like. A fine opening match. As I said earlier, another typical Los Ice Creams match, and the Colony did a good job here as well.

2.) Arctic Rescue Ant vs. Jolly Roger: **3/4

This match actually ended up being really solid. I was really entertained by it. Both guys worked well with each other.

3.) The Shard vs. The Lithuanian Snow Troll: **1/2

Not as good as the previous match, but it was still pretty solid. The Snow Troll put up a good fight, but he was no match for The Shard in the end.

4.) Orbit Adventure Ant vs. The Estonian ThunderFrog: **3/4

So it's the Hammer of Peace vs. The Wacky Space Helmet. Another pretty solid match. Much like the Arctic Rescue Ant/Jolly Roger match, this was pretty entertaining. The ThunderFrog would end up with the victory.

5.) Eddie Kingston vs. Eric Corvis: ***

This is my first time seeing Eric Corvis. His attire looks pretty cool. Eddie Kinston looks to be crazed as he throws stuff around and says that CHIKARA is dead (I presume he was referring to the people who were wearing the "I Am CHIKARA T-Shirts). A very good match here. Kingston & Corvis worked pretty well to each other and it made for a fine contest. Kingston would pick up the win.

6.) Juan Francisco de Coronado vs. Frightmare: ***

Another very solid match. Pretty much the kind of match you would expect from these two. The Frenetic Ball of Kinetic Energy would score the win.

7.) Amasis vs. Chuck Taylor: ***1/4

This was a very solid main event. They delivered exactly the kind of match you would expect being two of the best wrestlers in the "Wrestling is..." Universe. The Funky Pharaoh picked up the victory over the Kentucky Gentlemen.

After the match, Chuck Taylor & Orange Cassidy would go on to assault Amasis after the match. Suddenly a figure wearing a white cloak emerged, and revealed himself to be Ophidian! He then gets in the ring and attacks the Gentlemen's Club (I should note that this was edited a bit, as Ophidian apparently slipped and fell on his was to the ring and tweaked his ankle). He then has some words with Amasis, and then reveals that the Osirian Portal is officially reunited!

Overall: 7.0/10

In terms of quality, their really isn't much to this. You have one pretty solid match and two or three good matches, and the rest is just good to average. However, for the price of $9.99, you're getting two (technically one and a half) shows, and eleven matches, that are on the whole relatively solid. Plus you're getting the reuniting of the Osirian Portal, so that adds something special to the mix. Overall, a decent collection of matches.

ROH Reclamation: Night 2 Review

Jay Lethal & Michael Elgin go toe-to-toe with The American Wolves in the Main Event!

ROH Reclamation: Night 2
Dearborn, Michigan 7/13/13

1.) Kyle O'Reilly vs. Tadarius Thomas: **3/4

Thomas comes out with some of his Capoeira Fighting Team. The match was a solid opener. Even though these two have progressed a lot, this wasn't as good as their Brew City Beatdown match from last year. TD would end up taking the win.

2.) Four-Corner Survival - Leah Von Dutch vs. Jenny Rose vs. Athena vs. MsChif: **1/4

MsChif's Freddy Krueger attire is pretty awesome. The match actually wasn't that bad. Their was a four-way submission spot that I thought was very cool. Not as good as the Athena/MsChif singles match from Milwaukee, but still a decent women's match.

3.) Silas Young vs. "Sicilian Psychopath" Tommaso Ciampa: ***1/4

A pretty solid contest here. The match was going alone fine until Silas hits Ciampa with the ring bell mallet behind the referee's back to get the win...initially. Again, as I mentioned in my Reclamation: Night 1 Review, I find it funny that Nigel McGuinness & Kevin Kelly keep talking about "restoring honor" yet all these heelish things are happening, like with Silas using the hammer. Nigel would have the match restarted, leading to Ciampa getting the win. The crowd was pretty excited to see Ciampa (one of the only things they'd be excited for all night).

4.) BJ Whitmer vs. Adam Cole: ***1/4

Another pretty solid match here. I think the World TV Title Match these two had back in January was a little better since their was more at stake with the World TV Title on the line. I really liked the finish with Cole faking an injury to pick up the win.

5.) Michael Bennett (with Maria Kanellis) vs. Andy Muscant: *

Not much to this one. A typical Michael Bennet squash.

Afterwords, Maria orders Bennett to give Muscant another piledriver, but hometown hero Rhino makes the save, and challenges Bennett to a match. They initially refuse but Rhino talks enough trash to get Bennett to accept.

6.) Michael Bennett vs. Rhino: **1/4

A decent match. That's pretty much it.

After the match, Bennett talks some more trash, but he gets a GORE for his troubles. I feel like this whole thing would have been a much better fit for the TV Show.

7.) Bobby Fish vs. ACH: ***

Again, another decent match, but nothing really special. These two did not seem to work very well together, as their were a lot of miscommunications, though they were still able to salvage an enjoyable contest.

8.) Non-Title Match - ROH World TV Champion Matt Taven (with Truth Martini) vs. Kevin Steen: **3/4

This was ok, but it pretty much consisted of Steen beating the crap out of the World TV Champion for Ten Minutes until a distraction by Martini allowed Taven to roll Steen up with his feet on the ropes.

Kevin Steen doesn't want things to end this way, so he calls out Truth Martini and wants a match! Truth wants no part of it obviously, but Steen says everyone in the H.O.T. has vaginas. Nigel McGuinness decides to make the match to teach Truth a lesson, and says he'll keep doing it until he learns not to interfere in matches. I think at one point Nigel carries Truth back to the ring.

9.) Kevin Steen vs. Truth Martini: DUD

At some point, Matt Taven comes in and throws powder at Kevin Steen but it doesn't stop him, who hits Martini with the Package Piledriver and wins. A fun, short little segment, but pretty pointless. Again, I feel like this is something that would be better for the TV Show.

10.) "Unbreakable" Michael Elgin & Jay Lethal vs. The American Wolves: ****

This was a pretty solid main event. When you get four guys of this caliber in one match, you know it'll be good, and it was.

Overall: 6.75/10

The Main Event is the only real reason to get this show. Probably the worst live event of the year in terms of quality (and a pretty crappy way to end what was a good Triple-Shot up to this point) but the Main Event was pretty good. None of the matches really stood out, and a lot of things under-delivered in my estimation. The crowd for some reason was not very good. They were pretty quiet and barely reacted to anything. The announcing on this show (both Kelly & Nigel and whoever they got to be ring announcer. He was terrible) was not very good. Unless you're a big fan of Elgin, Lethal and/or the Wolves, you can avoid getting this one.

ROH Reclamation: Night 1 Review

Things heat up in Milwaukee as Davey Richards and Bobby Fish clash for the first time ever!

I should mention that the DVD includes a Pre-Show Q & A Session with ROH Matchmaker Nigel McGuinness. The one notable occurrence is that Jimmy Jacobs showed up and asked for his job back.

ROH Reclamation: Night 1
Milwaukee, Wisconsin 7/12/13

Pre-Show

1.) Cheeseburger & Benjamin Boone vs. The Beer City Bruisers (Matt Winchester & Nick Colluci): *1/2

This was a fun little pre-show match. Cheeseburger, as you would expect, was the most over person in here. Pretty much a Cheeseburger showcase.

Main Show

1.) Mike Sydal & Zizou Middoux vs. Adrenaline Rush: **1/2

This was.....ok. I don't know. I was kind of expecting a little bit more from this. Their was not as much high-flying as much as you would think there would be, especially given the teams involved. Apparently Middoux is Justin Gabriel's Brother which is kind of cool. ACH & TD would get the win in the end, and I think the #PartyBoyz blew off the post-match handshake.

2.) Athena vs. MsChif: **1/2

A fairly solid women's match. Athena and MisChif are two of the better women ROH utilizes and they put on a good performance here. Athena would pick up the win with the O-Face, which is an awesome finisher.

After the match, instead of shaking Athena's hand, MsChif spits the green mist in her face!

3.) Michael Bennett (with Maria Kanellis) vs. BJ Whitmer: **1/2

This is a rematch from Best in the World. I honestly think it was a slight step down from their first match. Just didn't do it for me, for some reason. Whitmer has Bennett beat but Maria distracts the referee, which allows Bennett to take advantage and get the win.

4.) Kyle O'Reilly vs. Eddie Edwards: ****

It isn't the first these two have faced each other one-on-one in ROH, but it's been awhile. This was a pretty great match. Edwards was great as usual but O'Reilly has really come a long way in relatively short amount of time. Excellent contest and a good way to further the reDRagon/American Wolves feud.

5.) Rhino vs. "The Sicilian Psychopath" Tommaso Ciampa: ***

While it wasn't overly great, I thought this was very solid. Ciampa needs more victories, and a win over someone like Rhino really helps him out. I really liked the finish where Ciampa countered the Gore with a Knockout-Knee to the face!! Brutal.

6.) Silas Young vs. Kevin Steen: ***

Another solid match. I wasn't sure how this would turn out, but they worked pretty well together. Wouldn't mind seeing these two have another match down the road.

7.) Four Corner Survival - ROH World TV Champion Matt Taven (with Truth Martini) vs. Jay Lethal vs. Adam Cole vs. "Unbreakable" Michael Elgin: ****

This is an interesting match. Nothing really on the line, just four of ROH's top stars duking it out. I gotta say this was really entertaining. Everyone got the chance to do their stuff, and Lethal & Elgin looked especially strong. I should note that Elgin was wearing regular wrestling trucks here, which makes look even bigger than he already is. The interference of Truth Martini & the Hoopla Hotties did affect the match for me, but not that much. Elgin would end up getting the win by pinning Adam Cole, who does not shake hands after the match.

8.) Bobby Fish vs. Davey Richards: ****1/4

I really enjoyed this match. My rating might be a bit higher than some other reviews you'll see, but I think all the personal animosity that had been building up for months between Fish & Richards really made this feel like a true grudge match. The finish was kind of flat but I think the rest of the match made up for it.

Overall: 8.0/10

So what you're pretty much getting with this show is three really good matches and an undercard that was pretty average. Although that's not to say their was anything bad on the undercard. You had some ok to solid to good matches, but nothing that really stood out. O'Reilly/Edwards, the Four-Corner Survival, and Fish/Richards are all really good to great matches. Plus once again, the Milwaukee crowd was rockin' and proved why they've become one of the best crowds in ROH. The only other thing I have to say is that on commentary Nigel McGuinness & Kevin Kelly kept saying that now that the war with S.C.U.M. was other, ROH had to go through a "re-education" process and work towards "restoring honor", yet on this show we had people denying the post match handshake, interfering in matches, and even MsChif spitting the green mist in Athena's face. Not exactly what I'd call honorable, but still, this show is a pretty good one.

ROH A Night of Hoopla Review

HOOOOOOOOOOOPLA!!!!!!

First of all, before you check the show out, you need to see the "Hoopla Rolls" that were put out leading up to the show. They're included on the DVD, and they're absolutely hilarious!

Also, before I go into the show, I should say this: I will be rating the matches, but don't let that sway your judgment, because they're all very entertaining. Based on what kind of show this was, I was contemplating not rating the matches at at all because this is such a unique show, but I decided to do so anyway, so don't take them too seriously.

ROH Unauthorized: A Night of Hoopla
Merrionette Park, Illinois 7/11/13

Truth Martini get things started by welcoming everyone to a Night of Hoopla! Following this, Scarlett Bordeaux sings the House of Truth National Anthem, which was pretty funny. God, who doesn't love Scarlett Bordeax?

Also, none of the referees will be wearing pants tonight, so be prepared for that. There was also no commentary, which was nice, as for once we didn't have to hear Kevin Kelly's voice.

1.) Non-Title Three-Way - ROH World TV Champion Matt Taven vs. Adam Cole vs. Eddie Edwards: **3/4

Very entertaining match. Basically it consisted of Edwards & Cole double teaming Taven in several hilarious ways. Referee Gino Colucci gets spanked by Scarlett, who ends up herself later getting chopped in the ass by Eddie Edwards. Things break down but Taven escapes with the win. Very entertaining match that mixed some wacky shenanigans with some good wrestling.

After the match, Adam Cole & Eddie Edwards pretend to do the Eiffel Tower to an imaginary Hoopla Hottie to the delight of the crowd (Google it if you don't know what an Eiffel Tower is).

Next, Jimmy Jacobs descends from the rafters singing "The Ballad of Lacey". He then sings his new single "Gypsy Soul". Jacobs is actually a very talented musician. All of his songs are available on iTunes.

2.) Special Guest Referee: Maria Kanellis - "The Machismo King" Jay Lethal vs. Delirious: **1/2

Essentially, Delirious & Jay Lethal reenacted the entire Ultimate Warrior/Randy Savage match from WrestleMania VII, pretty much move-for-move. It was entertaining, though I think some might like this more than others. I still enjoyed it.

After the match, Jay Lethal asks Maria (playing the role of Elizabeth) to marry him. She says yes, but Michael Bennett runs in, grabs Maria, and takes off with her.

Up next is the Pants Off Dance Off, with the Judge who, appropriately enough, is Judge Jeff Jones (he was Mike Awesome's Manager in the Original ECW). It features Scarlet Bordeauz, Seleziya Sparx, and Val Malone. All the ladies strip down and do their thing, but before Jeff Jones can pick a winner, Davey Richards comes out. It looks like he's going to go on a speech about how ROH has the best wrestling in the world, but instead tells them to hit the music and starts doing his own dancing!!! He violently humps the turnbuckle in something that has to be seen to be believed. Jeff Jones declares Davey Richards the winner of the Pants Off Dance Off!

This brings out Silas Young, who uses expletives to describe what he just saw. He chastises Davey Richards for not being a real man, and it looks like their match is getting started now.

3.) Davey Richards vs. Silas Young: **3/4

These two start to wrestle, but Silas would keep bailing out of the ring. Truth Martini comes out and says to make sure the action stays in the ring, he's turning this match into a Lumberjill Match!! The Lumberjills turn out to be a bunch of dudes in drag (which actually grossed me out a bit), but nonetheless, they had their match. Silas getting involved with some of the "Lumberjills" (I'll just leave it at that) leads to Davey Richards getting the win. Again, very entertaining.

After the match, Davey takes the mic and sings. Yes, you read that right.

Back from intermission, Truth Martini and the Hoopla Hotties pick a fan from the audience and offer him a lap dance from the Hoopla Hotties. They blindfold him, and bring some...shall we say "less than attractive" women instead. When the guy takes his blindfold off, he's scared out of his mind and runs off. Weird little segment.

4.) ROH World Tag Team Titles - reDRagon vs. Roderick Strong & Cheeseburger: ***1/2

Now we get to some of the more serious matches of the night. It was actually very good. Of course we would all expect this from a match with Roderick Strong, Bobby Fish & Kyle O'Reilly, but give a lot of credit to Cheeseburger as well. He did a great job in his role and the crowd loved him. Like the opener, this mixed some great wrestling with comedy, and it worked pretty well.

Up next is Hoopla Uncut, and Truth Martini brings out his guest: Satan (Once again...yes, you are indeed reading that correctly). He says he owns a lot souls in Chicago, and even in Ring of Honor, saying the only reason QT Marshall had a job was because he sold his soul to him. Truth asks Satan to take his pants off, and it looks like he's going to but then refuses, and belittles the Chicago Crowd, saying they're all going to hell. This leads to Scarlett low-blowing Satan, and Seleziya laying him out with a Death Valley Driver. They then take his pants off. Eh...the QT Marshall line was the only entertaining part of this segment.

5.) Athena & Adrenaline Rush vs. MsChif, "Unbreakable" Michael Elgin & BJ Whitmer: ***1/2

Apparently, Michael Elgin & MsChif were a couple, and had actually gotten married a few days prior, and they play that up a lot during the match. A really fun match here. Like the opener and the World Tag Team Title Match, it featured a great mix of solid wrestling and comedy. Athena saw a lot of action in this one, and it was good to see her hold her own. Everyone else did a great job as well. The match saw Elgin bust out the worn!!! In the end, Elgin & MsChif made out, and Elgin spit the green mist in the face of Tadarius which led to the Bucklebomb/Elginbomb combo for the win.

Overall: 9.0/10 (Entertainment Value)

As I mentioned in the beginning, I wouldn't take the star ratings that seriously, just because of what kind of show this was. Overall, it was really entertaining and a lot of fun. People have said this thousands of times, but ROH tends to take themselves really seriously, so it was really fun to see them do something refreshing and totally outside the box. Simply, it's just a lot of fun. Their is literally no reason why you shouldn't get this show. It's worth every penny.
