Dragon Gate USA Untouchable 2010
Chicago, Illinois 9/25/10
Bonus
1.) Arik Cannon vs. Kyle
O’Reilly: ***1/4
For a bonus match, this was pretty. O'Reilly & Cannon put on a good match that was good enough to belong on the main show.
Main Show
1.) Three Way – BxB Hulk vs.
Mike Quackenbush vs. Akira Tozawa: ***1/4
Hulk comes out & does his little dance pre-match but is low-blowed by his dancer, who is revealed to be in cahoots with Kamikaze USA, as Jon Moxley takes her away while Tozawa goes on the attack. Quackenbush comes out & gets this three way started. It was a pretty solid opener.
After the match Hulk says he will keep the belt and take out Kamikaze USA one-by-one.
2.) Brodie Lee vs. Da Soul
Touchaz: DUD
Da Soul Touchaz come out and challenge any tag team to a match. Brodie Lee comes out, saying he doesn't need a tag team. He goes on to beat all members of Da Soul Touchaz in a squash. After the match, Lee say's he's coming for a "Japanese Man"
3.) Grudge Match – Dragon Kid
vs. Shingo: ****
These two were tag team partners before Shingo turned on Dragon Kid to join Kamikaze USA. This was a very good match. The classic tale of strength vs. speed. These two put on a fantastic contest.
4.) Street Fight – Jimmy
Jacobs vs. Jon Moxley: ***1/2
Jacobs comes out in his infamous blood soaked white jacket, and talked about the things he's done in Chicago. He then basically says he's going old school and reveals he's wearing his old furry boots and his "Husk" tights. The match itself was good but I think it fell just short of being great. Very violent though. YAMATO comes out to help his stablemate Moxley pick up the win, but not before Brodie Lee came down and ran YAMATO off.
5.) Four-Way Freestyle –
Chuck Taylor vs. Drake Younger vs. Johnny Gargano vs. Rich Swann: ***1/4
This was a pretty fun match. I always enjoy these four-way matches. Younger didn't seem to add much to the match. The other three, however, looked pretty good. Taylor wins his second Four-Way in a row.
6.) Dragon Gate Style Tag
Action – Masato Yoshino & Naruki Doi vs. CIMA & Ricochet: ****1/4
So CIMA selected Ricochet as his partner tonight. This was a great match, with Ricochet scoring the winning fall over the veteran team in a huge upset with a move that involved multiple rotations.
After the match, CIMA puts over Ricochet, making him an official member of Warriors International. Johnny Gargano comes out to put over Ricochet as well, sort of stealing Ricochet's spotlight.
7.) Main Event – Bryan
Danielson vs. YAMATO: ****1/2
This match wasn't on the actual PPV, but was the main event of the evening and featured on the DVD. Danielson comes into this as the WWE United States Champion after beating The Miz the weekend before at Night of Champions. This weekend is Danielson's last on the independents. It was a really great match. What you would expect from Danielson.
After the match, Jon Moxley comes out, and he & YAMATO attack Danielson until BxB Hulk makes the save. Danielson cuts a promo, saying how he's a wrestler, not a superstar. He also says tomorrow night he is going to fight Jon Moxley.
Overall: 9.5/10
This was a very good show. The fact that the pre-show match was good enough to be on the main show is a very good sign. The Danielson match, Dragon Kid/Shingo & the Tag Team Match are all worth seeing, and everything else is just icing on the cake.
