ROH 6th Anniversary Show
New York, NY 2/23/2008

1.) Delirious vs. Human Tornado: DUD

Started out with some hilarious antics from Delirious & Tornado, but the Age of the Fall comes out & attacks both guys before it can even get going, leading to...

2.) The Age of the Fall vs. Delirious & Human Tornado: ***

This was a fine opener. Haven't seen much of Human Tornado, but I've heard a lot of good things about him.

After the match ROH World Champion Nigel McGuinness comes out. He talks about the physical condition he's in and that he might drop his title match with Danielson to prepare for his match at the next ROH PPV in Philadelphia. He further goes on to say that if he's not appreciated by the fans, he won't defend the belt. This brings out an angry Bryan Danielson, telling Nigel not to disrespect the belt. He offers to not go after Nigel's head if he defends the title as scheduled.

3.) Brent Albright vs. El Generico: **3/4

Here we get some leftover business from the Hangmen 3/Steenerico & Delirious feud. It was a good match. Fans make fun of Albright for looking like Jim Belushi, which was funny.

Next we get the Larry Sweeney Show: Starring Larry Sweeney (and Bobby Dempsey). Why doesn't this have at least a little bit of the Talk Show set up (Scene Wise) like most other Wrestler-Hosted Shows are?? It would definitely add to it here. He berates Dempsey for a bit before bring out his guest: Allison Danger. He calls her the patron saint on ROH, but want's to discuss the rumors of her being a slut. This insults Danger but Sweeney lays her out before she can leave. He then tells Bobby to be a man and take advantage of her. Bobby doesn't want to so Sweeney knocks Dempsey on top of Danger in a sexual postion. He then pulls a Captain Morgan (lol) and announced a plan of a hostile takeover of ROH by Sweet 'n' Sour Inc. Heard a lot about this segment (for it's controversy mainly). Eh...it was ok.

4.) Kevin Steen vs. Joey Matthews: **1/2

Here we get a decent match with Steen picking up the win, continuing he recent winning streak in singles competition.

5.) Go Shiozaki vs. Austin Aries: ****

This is Go's second ROH appearance (the first being the night before). It turned out to be a pretty good match. If Go wanted to make an impression in his first weekend, he certainly did so in this match.

After the match The Age of the Fall appears on the balcony in their continued attempts to recruit Austin Aries. This brings out Tammy Sytch (aka Sunny) who promises Sunny Days for Austin Aries if he joins up with her. Aries says he'll think it over. Lacey then has some rather unflattering words for Sytch, who brushes it off.

6.) SHIMMER Title – Sara Del Rey vs. Daizee Haze: **1/2

Time for the first of four title matches on this show. This was a fine women's match. Del Rey and Haze are some of the best women on the independent circuit, and they prove it here.

7.) ROH World Tag Team Titles: No Remorse Corps. (Davey Richards & Rocky Romero) vs. The Vulture Squad (Jigsaw & Ruckus): ***1/4

I enjoyed watching this match. Their didn't really seem to be a dull moment and it was all action from start to finish. A fun title defense to watch.

8.) FIP World Heavyweight Title – No DQ – Necro Butcher vs. Erick Stevens vs. Roderick Strong: ***3/4

I was interested to see how this would turn out considering Necro Butcher was in here with the likes of Strong & Stevens. I must say I was surprised. This turned out to be really good. Everyone, including Necro, looked good here. Lots of hard hitting chops & brawling. Really entertaining.

9.) ROH World Title – Nigel McGuinness vs. Bryan Danielson: ****1/2

This match went on for a little bit when Danielson accidentally hit a backdrop suplex that hurt Nigel's head. Nigel protested, leading to him decking the ref, drawing a DQ. He tries to walk out but is stopped by Austin Aries, Delirious, Roderick Strong & Kevin Steen. Aries tells Nigel to get in the ring & continue the match or go through all of them. Then the match really picked up between Danielson & McGuinness. Nigel became more & more heel throughout the match, using his "injured" head & going after Danielson's eye, eventually winning the match.

Overall: 8.5/10

Another great ROH Show without a single bad match on it. The first half was good and all of the title matches delivered. A great way to celebrate Ring of Honor's 6th Anniversary.
