ROH Revolution USA Review

The American Wolves & The Kings of Wrestling clash in the Main Event!

ROH Revolution USA

Dearborn, Michigan 5/6/11

1.) Homicide vs. Tommaso Ciampa: **1/4

These two had some clashes during the Honor  Takes Center Stage Shows (in Singles Action & Four Corner Survival). It ok opener.

Afterwords, The Embassy tries to attack, but Homicide ends up giving Ernesto Osiris a Cop Killa.

2.) Michael Elgin vs. Andy “Right Leg” Ridge: **1/4

Another match that was just ok. More or less a showcase for Elgin.

Steve Corino comes out and cuts another one of his Redemption promos. He talks about Christopher Daniels joining the House of Truth and then turns his attention to Mike Bennett and also talks about an "old friend" who will be coming to be his"sponsor". This brings out Bennett & his trainer Bob Evans, and he promises to make Corino fall off the wagon again.

3.) “The Prodigy” Mike Bennett vs. Grizzly Redwood: *1/2

The whole storyline going with Corino was good & all, but it didn't always involve good matches. This was just kind of there. Bennett lays out Corino after the match.

4.) First Blood Match – The All Night Express vs. Jay & Mark Briscoe: ***1/4

This one comes after their bloody encounter in Atlanta. ANX goes right after The Briscoes from the get go. A pretty entertaining contest. Mark Briscoe bleeds first, but the ref doesn't see it....but he sees Titus Bleeding (of course) and calls for the bell.

In frustration, ANX laid out Jay Briscoe after the match and Kenny King challenges the Briscoes to a Chicago Street Fight at Supercard of Honor VI.

5.) Non-Title Match – ROH World TV Champion Christopher Daniels vs. Colt Cabana: **3/4

Daniels explains before the match essentially why he joined the House of Truth. It was a pretty decent match, but more on the short side (about 9 minutes) and never really got going.

6.) Non-Title Match – ROH World Tag Team Champions Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas vs. Adam Cole & Kyle O’Reilly: ***1/2

This, as the title indicates, is a Non-Title Match. They cut out the team's entrances, which was kind of weird. The match itself was pretty good. A little long, but still good.

7.) No-Disqualification Match – Roderick Strong vs. El Generico: ****

El Generico has been having a lot of issues with the House of Truth as of late. Truth Martini appears in the entrance way and distracts El Generico as Strong comes through the crowd and jumps him. This was a very good match. Daniels & Elgin both get involved eventually leading to a Roderick Strong victory. These two have great chemistry and it showed here...

8.) Kings vs. Wolves II – The Kings of Wrestling vs. The American Wolves: ****

This is a rematch from Tag Title Classic II except their are no Tag Titles up for grabs. Another very good match and definitely the better of their two encounters. Both teams worked their butts off to put on a great 20+ Minute Tag Team Match.

Afterwords, Richards saves Edwards from a KOW beatdown. Edwards then questions Richards about the miscue that cost them the match, and says he can take care of himself.

Overall: 7.75/10

A show that had a really uneventful first half (the first three matches are honestly skippable) the show really picks up in the second half. Everything from the First Blood Match onwards is good to great. If not dragged down by the opening matches, this show would have been better. But the two main event matches are worth seeing.
